A Letter from Our Community

“Though February is short, it is filled with lots of love and sweet surprises” – Charmaine J. Forde

Many people make resolutions in January. By February, those resolutions may begin to slip. But they don’t have to! One of my resolutions is to have a happy and healthy workplace. I hope you will join me this by doing some simple things to be happy and healthy:

  • Clean your hands often. Washing your hands is easy, and it’s one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. Clean hands can stop germs from spreading from one person to another and throughout an entire community—from your home and workplace to nursing facilities and hospitals. We will be providing pocket sanitizers so you can clean your hands between trips to the sink.
  • Drink water! Water is known to be the best and the most natural hydrating liquid. It promotes cardiovascular health, keeps muscles and joints working, and helps cleanse toxins from your body. Staying hydrated also helps balance your blood sugar, helps relieve headaches, and promotes healthy skin.
  • Choose to be happy. The most important thing to realize about happiness is that it is not an outcome of current circumstances. In fact, we can choose happiness. Are some days easier than others? Definitely. But if you get caught in the trap of thinking your circumstances need to change before you can be happy, you’ll never, ever get there.

I’d also like to take this time to encourage everyone to remember the reason we are all here: to make a comfortable home for our residents. For many, we become like family. Our smiling faces and kind words make a huge difference in the daily lives of every person we come in contact with. Remember to take a moment and smile at our MVCC family members.
