Administrator’s Note
On July 30th, 2020 Mountain View Care Center said good bye to not only a really good Activity Director, but also a very good friend. Donna Bird has been with our Facility since February 20, 1997. She will be missed not just by the Residents, but also by the staff. She takes a lot of memories and knowledge with her into retirement and we wish her the best. She will be enjoying time with her grandchildren.
Our Resident’s and staff are hanging in there. I often hear the regrets of the time they are not being able to spend with their loved ones from both Residents and Families. Our staff have been very diligent in maintaining their health and safety as well as protecting our Residents. I think the favorite question for the entire world would be “When is this going to be over?” or better yet, “What is the new normal going to look like?”
It is difficult to keep coming up with different ideas for activities to keep their mind off of what is happening and to give them a quality of life that they deserve. Our next adventure is going to decorate remote control cars for each of the hallways and have a small tournament of races throughout the month. We always like to encourage letters and have had several pen pals for our Residents. We currently have 2 IPads for FaceTime chats and we encourage family and residents to utilize this opportunity. We have requested 3 more IPads to encourage them to be part of their lives as much as possible.
I think we all look forward to the day when we can go outside (and it isn’t so hot) and we are back to the Resident shopping, casino day and families visiting. For now we will be as happy as possible, while being healthy and being the extended family at Mountain View Care Center.
