Spring Into Activities

Hello, this month’s column is brought to you by the Activities Department. We’d like to share with you some of the fun events that we have been doing over the past few months.

While observing COVID guidelines, the residents have been able to participate in socially-distanced group activities such as participating in Take a Walk Day. Several residents took a walk to the local park with staff. On another day, they gathered outside to join in a water balloon toss game and watched staff in an egg-carrying race. We have been exploring our creative side with art projects, too.

We even recently had a Classic Car drive-through to celebrate a resident’s birthday! We have started working on our garden for Arbor Day. Residents’ plants are beginning to sprout.

We celebrated Nursing Home Week with a resident and staff barbecue that was enjoyed by all. We also celebrated Nurses Week with different days such as Star Wars Day and Super Hero Day. Residents enjoyed watching Star Wars movie while eating Yoda (pistachio) Cake and cheering for staff in the Virtual Star Wars Race.

As we Spring into Summer, we plan to continue to bring more activities to the residents that will be interesting and fun!
